Secondary WorkshopsMuch of the CLCs curriculum activity is project based and goes to support diploma lines also however the two workshops below have been particularly successful in the past and hence we continue to offer these to schools on an annual basis.
1. Journalism
We offer workshops aimed primarily at students working within the English curricular area. Students learn how to research, draft and writes articles for print. Participating students are invited to a specialist Media Project which runs annually during the run-up to Christmas with the aim of creating a Time-Out student supplement published with the support of freelance journalists, graphic designers and related professionals.
2. Broadcasting
Visual Communicator is a fun broadcasting application that allows students to devise and deliver their own mini programme on any subject of their choice. Students write their script (in school) and refine this at the Centre, culminating in a newscast using their own choice of background, music and visual prompts. |
